The 2004 Winner of the Norton Award is David W. from Mighty Oaks cabin.   Below is his winning essay.

I raised my funds for Camp Carefree by maintaining peoples gardens and lawns.  I wrote letters to friends and family telling them I was going to Camp Carefree and that I needed to raise some money.  If they had any kind of work they needed done, I would like to do it.  I qualified for a full scholarship with Camp Carefree but continued to raise money to help another kid use some of my scholarship money.  I raise about $250.
