To get
sponsorships I created a letter stating what they would be sponsoring for.
By getting the sponsors, i went to where both my parents work and placed
copies of my letter in the break room with hope to attract some sponsors.
I also passed out some letters to my teachers, but they weren't the only
ones who helped.
During the
month of May, Costco Wholesale Warehouses all over the nation held a
fundraiser for the Children's Miracle network. All the money raised
in Massachusetts and New Hampshire went towards Children's Hospital
Boston, which I go to for my diabetes care. I volunteered and
participated in the fundraiser at the Costco Wholesale of Waltham, MA.
As I helped, people came up to me and asked why I was helping and I said,
"I am helping because I have Type I Diabetes and I go to this hospital for
my diabetes care." And as they found out more about it, some decided
to help me in my quest to raise money for my tuition.
As me and my
parents were talking to the people of Camp Carefree they suggested to get
a scholarship from Abbot Diabetes Care and we took their suggestion and
sent our application to Abbot Diabetes Care. After some time went by
Abbot Diabetes Care called my house and said that I have been approved for
the scholarship that paid the entire camp fee. So I would like to
thank Camp Carefree and Abbot Diabetes Care for helping me raise event
more money.
Between the
teachers, employees, sponsors and Abbot Diabetes Care, I raised more than
my eight hundred fifty-dollar fee. Because of my letter writing and
my volunteering, sponsor's sent one hundred ten dollars to Camp Carefree.
A collection at my parents work raised three hundred sixty-five dollars
cash for a total collection of four hundred seventy five dollars raised.
When my
family and I were told and made aware that we raised more than needed, I
suggested to my parents to see if the extra money that was sent directly
to the camp could be used to help Camp Carefree for other camper i the
future. the extra three hundred sixty five dollars cash was used to
pay for my Summer Boy Scout Camping. This is how I raise money to
not just pay for my tuition here, to to help others as well and to pay for
my Boy Scout camp. So, I would like to thank all the people who
helped to make my dream, to come to camp, come true. |
