Norton was a loving English Sheepdog that had diabetes.  He visited Camp Carefree every year, as our Camp Mascot.  When he passed away, his owner wanted to remember him in a special way.  Thus, the Norton Award was “born”!

Every year, we present the Norton Award for Resourcefulness to the camper who shows the most initiative/creativity in raising money towards his/her camp fee.  The camper’s name is added to a special plaque that is displayed at camp.

Below are the essays from recent Norton Award Winners.
