VISITOR & GUEST INFORMATION

Whereas ADA Camp Carefree would love to have old friends, new friends/families, past alumni and special event personnel at camp with us for as long as camp itself, all of us need to remember that camp ultimately is for and all about our campers and CITs.  As a result, visiting time is restricted and we do not allow parents, relatives, or friends to visit our campers or CITs during camp.  This allows time for the campers and CITs to develop the independence, camp friendships, responsible diabetes management skills, and life skills that are so essential to a great camp experience and their futures.

There are a number of reasons why you might like to visit camp.  Please select the most relevant reason below, and click link to register to come to camp.  Registration is required and Visitors and Guests may only come to camp via this process and with the approval of the Camp Director.  Feel free to contact Phyllis if you have any questions.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT CAMP

Upon arrival, ALL Visitors and Guests must check in with the Director (the camp office is located in the basement of the Dining Hall).  Anyone seen wandering around camp unaccompanied will be asked to leave for the safety of the entire camp community.  Meals are generally not provided without prior arrangements.  Also, no overnight accommodations are available, but we will be glad to provide directions to many fine eating/lodging facilities nearby upon request.

LONG-TERM VOLUNTEERS

Anyone interested in staying longer at camp must become an ADA Camp Carefree volunteer and complete/return all volunteer paperwork at least a week prior to the start of camp Click here for details.  Please be aware that relatives of current campers/CITs also CANNOT BE ACCEPTED as volunteer staff at ADA Camp Carefree.
