Pre-camp: |
–Determine
with the Program director the number of classes/ages that will be taught.
–Design
activities specific to the age level and interest for the campers in each
class.
–Train
staff on correct fitness procedures.
–Post
Safety Rules at teaching site(s).

During Camp: |
–Focus
on the entire body, including working on muscle strength and flexibility,
the cardiovascular system as well as the emotional well being/building of
self esteem through fitness.
–Lead
all fitness classes with counseling staff.
–Inspire/mentor
interested CITs. Teach per their ability and interest levels.
–Adjust
and modify activities as necessary so that each camper is able to enjoy
and benefit at their own fitness level.
–Develop
and make “fitness awards” to be given to campers on Awards Night at the
end of camp.

Post Camp: |
–Evaluate
fitness program and make recommendations for modifications and purchase of
equipment for the following year.
