Pre-camp: |
–Work
closely with the Program Director to plan the routes the hikes will
cover.
–Clear
and mark trails and update maps and directions for cleared trails.
–Set
up hiking schedule with Program Director.
–Train
staff on correct hiking procedures.

During Camp: |
–Communicate
information about the hikes to enable campers to make educated
decisions about which hike to choose.
–Lead
all hikes with counseling and medical staff.
–Keep
open lines of communication with the Program Director regarding hike
information.
–Work
with kitchen staff, Medical Director, and Program Director to ensure
safety and proper diabetes care on hikes.
–Coordinate
with Program Director and Medical Director to determine lists of
campers participating in optional hikes.

Post Camp: |
–Evaluate
hiking program and make recommendations for modifications and purchase
of equipment.
