Promote use, enjoyment and safety of
the waterfront area. |

Set up/review Waterfront Rules and
Emergency Action Plans early on in Pre-Camp. These should be worked
out with the Camp Director, Program Director and experienced
Waterfront Staff members. Camp Staff and campers must be made
full aware of the rules and emergency procedures. This should be
explained and rehearsed with the entire staff during Pre-Camp. |

Test and classify abilities of camp
staff and campers. Utilize staff abilities to the best advantage in
carrying out the Waterfront programs. |

Supervise camp staff carrying out
instruction and Lifeguard duties. |
 |
Daily check waterfront conditions
prior to breakfast to determine if any changes need to be made in that
day’s scheduled activities. |
 |
Consult with Camp Director and
Program Director relative to suggestions for improvements in the
Waterfront program and safety. |
 |
Bring any safety concerns in writing
to the attention of the Camp Director. Remedy these safety concerns
immediately where possible and make note in writing of the
corrections made and when completed. |

Meet with ACA Visitors during
Accreditation visits to review yearly compliance with all Aquatic
Standards. |

Maintain swimming record files. See
that the American Red Cross record forms are obtained, completed by
the last Thursday in camp, turned into the local American Red Cross
chapter, cards are issued and given to the campers on Awards Night
(last Friday of camp). |

Facilitate the copying of all
Waterfront certification. Make sure certification file is complete in
Director's Office and Instructor authorizations are extended/updated
with the local American Red Cross chapter. |
